I knew that the Business Administration degree would be broad, but I expected it to focus more on Excel and other O365 programs. Initially, it was actually good that there were mandatory courses from all specializations, as it helped clarify what I wanted to study. There were both courses I found meaningful and those I didn’t enjoy as much.

Skills Acquired in School

In terms of marketing, we started with a rather superficial introduction to terminology and what marketing actually is. Gradually, we delved deeper into the world of marketing, honing our skills in specific areas within the field.

Software and Proficiency

Regarding the software side, my initial perception was completely wrong. During my specialization, the programs I used the most and developed deeper proficiency in were Adobe InDesign and Illustrator. These two nicely complemented Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Additionally, I became very familiar with Canva, and Figma was recommended. Figma is a bit of a different tool, but it feels like a valuable addition to this skill set.

Hobbies

Alongside this, I’ve gained deeper knowledge of DaVinci through my hobbies, and a basic understanding of Premiere Pro and FCXP, which further enhances my skill set.

On top of this, I’ve become familiar with Squarespace through a couple of projects and have a basic understanding of WordPress, along with some knowledge of HTML and CSS that comes with it.
